Ane Larsen & Baxter Documentarian
This 22-image series, “The Kitchen Table”, came about during my last stay in London, England. All shoots were conducted in my flat’s kitchen over a one-month period. All sitters were friends of mine and each was asked to bring a fruit or vegetable with which they identified. During my two previous stints living in London, I had amassed a diverse and unique group of friends. The series was essentially a visual diary to document those relationships. The inspiration for the series’ look came from 17th century Dutch paintings that focused on capturing individuals engaged in everyday activities and sitting at the kitchen table is a universally identifiable situation.
